Banned: Fine Food and Fun

Posted by Eric @ 3:11 AM

TIME.com

Outrageously, Time's magazine editors published a comparison of a ban on foie gras production to a law against mismatched clothing in Carmel, N.Y, suggesting that Chicago's new law was drafted by the Ministry of Loopy Laws. It's the writer, Nina Vizcarrando, who is silly for criticizing a ban that outlaws the confinement and force-feeding of fowl for the sake of a far-from-necessary "delicacy" representing all that is decadent and wrong with food production and consumption.

I think Time's editors could use some articulate letters taking them to task for this food faux pas.

PS - anyone hoping to see posts on stories sent to me in the last few days, or any e-mail for that matter, should realize I've barely made a dent since I returned from vacation. I have tabs and tabs of stories open in Safari that may never be covered here, but I wanted to post certain other items in a timely fashion, especially something like this, where Time really has gone too far and needs to be reminded how egregiously cruel Vizcarrando's article appears to the vast majority of civilized and compassionate Americans.
